Forests Without Boundaries is an international environmental education project initiated by the SDW Hamburg (German Forest Protection Association). The project promotes cross-border awareness of forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and climate protection. Through interactive workshops, excursions, and digital learning formats, young people and educators explore how forests contribute to global sustainability and what shared responsibility we have in protecting them.
The program connects schools, youth groups, and environmental organizations from different countries to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices in sustainable forest management. Participants learn about the ecological, economic, and social importance of forests and develop practical skills in nature observation, conservation, and project planning.
By fostering collaboration beyond national borders, Forests Without Boundaries strengthens environmental literacy, empathy for nature, and international understanding. The project empowers the next generation to take action for forests as vital ecosystems – locally rooted, globally connected.
