Intercultural Dialogue and Education
Inclusive communication across cultures and disciplines. Projects to strengthen societal resilience against populism, authoritarianism, and science denial. Promotion of pluralism, critical thinking, and democratic values
GSI’s intercultural dialogue and education projects provide non-formal education, NGO capacity building, and the exchange of knowledge between academia and civil society, all rooted in intercultural experience.
These initiatives are carried out through a wide network of partner nonprofit associations and universities across Europe and the Mediterranean.
GSI mentors youth and emerging civil society actors, connecting them with funding, volunteering, and training opportunities that promote engagement with reputable science and open society.

The GSI Youth Advisory Board consists of five outstanding young people from diverse cultural backgrounds and areas of interest. They review GSI projects to ensure youth and civil society perspectives are represented in all activities. The board is also empowered to develop its own initiatives that foster democratic participation and youth empowerment while combating polarisation in digital and educational spaces.

In addition, GSI’s formal education projects integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into classrooms, enabling school-age youth to engage with content from social and environmental sciences in meaningful and interactive ways.
